Coffee Talks

Those who know me, know of my appreciation for coffee. So, here's me; making yet another coffee analogy...Don't hate.

Incase you didn't know, coffee has a range of "roasts" : Light, Medium, and Dark. Well, at least these are the main categories.

The darker the roast, the lower the caffeine. Darker roasts usually have a strong flavor and a distinct aroma than lighter roasts. Don't worry! That's not the only thing I'm talking about.

All this coffee "gyaan" got me thinking about my relationship with God. Here's why?

The deeper we get to know him (like the dark roast), the more "flavorful" we get. In other words, the more connected we are with Jesus, the more our life will reflect Him. When we have a deeper intimacy with Christ, we obtain that distinct Flavor of Christ.

"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come."

2 Corinthians 5:17

Have you ever felt anger, shame, guilt, and depression together at once? or perhaps at different times? I once had those feelings - A LOT! But the day I surrendered my issues in the hands of Jesus, I saw my life change. Anger turned into compassion, depression turned into joy, guilt and shame into a testimony. The more of Christ I absorbed, the greater my desire to be like him. My old self passed away and I turned into someone new.

So, all you coffee lovers (and non- coffee drinkers).. Strive to be that "darker roast" in your walk with Jesus!
